Doctor Strange 2 Review

Even though the internet has already let the cats out of the bag I’m still going to attempt to review this without spoilers (mostly to challenge myself). First things first this movie was crazy! It was an insane and brutal rollercoaster ride of a movie that I enjoyed every second of.

The main thing I enjoyed, which many have already mentioned, is that this movie is another example of how this Phase is becoming darker/more mature. This change can not only be seen in the more violent fights but also in the darker themes of trauma, abuse, and of course loss throughout the MCU. It feels cliché to say but I just really love how this Phase is getting darker since it almost feels like the MCU has been growing up alongside me.

On a less serious note, I also can’t get enough of how they do the different types of magic. They always look so cool(especially all the different colors for all the spells) and I can’t wait to see even more magic in the rest of Phase 4. All in all, I give this movie a 9 out of 10.

Fantastic Beasts: Secrets of Dumbledore Review

Even though I saw this movie opening weekend it took me this long to write a review because I have a pretty big bias when it comes to anything dealing with the Wizarding World. And that bias is *drumroll* You guessed it! Complete and utter love! So, I wanted to give my opinions sometime to stew to see if they changed. But wouldn’t you know they haven’t.

Honestly I just love every little addition to the Wizarding World so I have an extremely hard time seeing anything wrong with them. I just enjoy learning as much as I can about the magically world. I especially love how these movies are letting us see the actual “World” and not just Britain. But what I love even more than the world building is my dearest Newt, I love him with all my heart. I don’t know what it says about me but I just adore my socially awkward animal lover. Without Newt I would have still been a reluctantly proud Hufflepuff instead of a loud and proud Hufflepuff I am! But really I truly enjoy how these movies are telling an important story (that we vaguely heard about in the HP movies) mainly from the point of view of someone who you would have thought of as unimportant.

I only have one complaint and that is that I wish that we got to meet just one more new magical creature. That would have been the icing on the cake, at least I got more of Teddy(my second favorite love of FB). So, I would rate this an 8 out of 10. I will also say it was better then the 2nd movie but not as great as the 1st one.
