DOTA Dragon’s Blood Review

The number 1 way I know a show is good is when I’m sad that I watched it too fast, because now it’s done and I have to wait around wondering and hoping if/when it’s going to get a second season. Which is exactly how I feel with Netflix’s show, DOTA Dragon’s Blood. First things first I knew that this was somehow based off the computer game, but since I don’t actually know anything about the plot or even if its an MMO or something else and I was very curious on what it be like. But that didn’t stop me from absolutely loving this show, it’s got some of my favorite things elves, magic, and best of all… DRAGONS!!! Anyone who knows me knows that I love dragons, but just because the it has dragons doesn’t mean I’ll immediately love (it doesn’t hurt though). So, when I first watched the trailer for this show I was skeptical because it at first looked the main character had only vague connection to dragons or at most “summoned” a dragon to fight. And I’m not a huge fan of summoning in this genre, I prefer when the characters actually transform into the creature instead of summoning it because it doesn’t look like they’re passing off the work to something else. So the fact that there wasn’t any summoning in the show immediately squashed any of my worries and allowed me to enjoy every aspect of the show.

Second and literally the best part of this show was the DRAGONS!!!! Like I said I love dragons and this show had so many different types of dragons and they all looked special. I’m very picky when it comes to dragons but this show gave me all different types of dragons that covered all my bases for what I enjoy in dragons. Thats one of the biggest reason I want another season is so that they can show me even more dragons!

I also can’t wait to learn even more about all the cliffhangers they left us with and even more I can’t wait to see what else happens with the characters. Especially the budding relationship between Davion and Mirana, which I can’t wait for it to move to the next level*wink wink*. But really I’m super excited to see where else this show goes.

So all in all I’d give this show a 9 out of 10!

#1 problem of being a fan of YouTubers

As many nerds out there know one of the best parts of being a nerd is talking about all your various fandoms! Especially when it’s happy or exciting things. When it’s something widely enjoyed by many people, like the MCU or Game of Thrones, there’s plenty of people to talk to and life is good. But what do you do when those around you don’t care about your current obsession or it’s something more niche and they have no idea what you’re talking about? For me thats usually the anime/k-drama I’m watching or something about my favorite YouTubers. Luckily though I have one friend who also enjoys anime/k-drama so I can talk to them about anything in the shows and even watch it with them and they will also get happy which will make even more happiness. But when I get excited about The Boys releasing No No Brush plushes again or being in a dino herd with SovietWomble on The Isle no one I know understands how big of a deal that is, so I sit in silence unable to share the joy. But I’m get off point, so what do you do when you can’t share the joy? You “suffer” in silence that’s what you do.

But honestly that’s how it feels some times. Because you have so much happiness and you want to share that happiness and in turn make even more happiness which makes even more happiness. Seriously it can be an infinite loop if you let it, like sometimes I feel like my nerd joy could power a nuclear power plant. But back on track again when those joyous emotions have no one to be shared with they kinda just fizzle out. Like I think that it’s actually harder to not be able to share happiness then sadness. If I go to someone and complain about a character dying they’ll usually understand since they can image their own favorite characters dying and they will share your pain and comfort you and then life is good. But if I go and try and share my EXTREME excitement about buying and the subsequent wait time till I get The Boys No No Brush plush no one understands. They don’t know that the said plush came out before and you missed your chance last time. They also don’t know that it’s a limited-time thing and that you may never get the chance again. And they DEFINITELY don’t understand what’s so amazing about a strange green brush character in underwear and the history behind it. Like seriously how do you explain this to someone whose never watched a Boys video?

They see this pic and have no idea what to think, I see this pic and get super excited about how that guy(the green one) will be mine soon!

I go through the same thing when I’m able to get into a dinosaur herd with SovietWomble when I play The Isle. Which I’ve been able to do 3 times so far might I add. Only one person I know can even imagine how big of a deal that is for me and they don’t even play The Isle. The rest don’t even know who Womble is let alone what goes into getting in a group like that in a game like The Isle. But for me that’s a HUUUUUUUGE deal and it makes my week when something like that happens. Like so huge I keep a photo on my phone to this day to prove it ever happened.

LOOK AT THAT IT HAPPENED! So, when I go around shouting for joy the unfortunate people who don’t understand are always like “wow that’s nice” and I’m like no it’s more then nice it’s AMAZING. It’s the good version of apocalyptic, if thats a thing. So I have no other choice to share my love and joy on here and hope others out there on the world wide web will understand and share some of my greatest joys.

VR Storytime

Okay first some explaining for those who don’t know, I have a Vive VR headset and with the Vive you have your VR Home. This home is basically where you start and from there you can go to the different games you have, but the interesting part is that you can customize it. So, my VR home is a fancy apartment floating above Gotham city (and for those who know me it was the nerdiest one I could find that’s why it’s sadly not HP or Iron Man themed). Another thing about your home is that there are also random objects like furniture, books, and even snow piles that you can change the the size of and put around your home.

So, last month or so I was doing a Beat Saber(basically DDR but you slice things with swords) session with my friend. We were trying out the new multiplayer mode that was finally added and we were having so much fun, but as anyone whose played Beat Saber knows that game is a work out. So, after we got tired we “went” to my VR Home and we were just “walking” around messing around and looking at Gotham. This is when one of us tried to see if the game would allow us to drop things of my balcony. We both assumed at first that it wouldn’t, like I thought that it would just float in mid air or something like that because I didn’t think the game would have something like that programed in. But then when we dropped a coffee mug of the balcony guess what it did! Thats right it fell! For some reason that entertained us so much.

Once we realized we could drop things we just assumed that it just disappeared at some point. But then after dropping bigger things like a bed and bookcase we both were like “wait I think I see it on the ground! I doesn’t just dissappear!”. That’s when we started getting really into dropping things, we both were finding any item we could and we would make it as big as we could and just started chucking things of the balcony like our life depended on it, it was great! Honestly I have know idea why we found throwing plates bigger then my head off a balcony and watching it get smaller and smaller until it just stops and sits on the ground so fun but it was.

But seriously I had the same amount and maybe even more fun just dropping things of a ledge in a virtual apartment then I did playing an actual game. That’s why VR is so much fun because even the simple things are awesome in VR.

The Boys appreciation post!

No, not The Boys series but The Boys youtube group. And before I get to the appreciation part of this post The Boys are they are a group of five youtubers by the names of JoshDub, Mully(who are in Australia), EddieVR, Juicy, and Your Narrator (who are in America) for those who don’t know.

Now time for the appreciation! In this crazy time The Boys simply just make me happy. It’s honestly not even the videos that they make that make me happy (but those are great too), it’s the friendship between them. I follow all of them on their different social media accounts and you can tell that they are real friends. With a lot of youtubers I’m always left wondering do they really like these people they play with or are they just playing with them because the fans like it. But with The Boys I can tell that they aren’t faking their friendships, not only because they’ve actually met in person but they also constantly talking to each other on social media. Hyping each other up, making fun of each other, everything that real friends do.

I think the reason that The Boys being real friends and not just 5 guys who play games together makes me so happy is that it gives me hope that you can make real lasting friendships online. Even if those friends are on the other side of the world if you put some effort into it they can become more then just online friends.

I also think they are wholesome and the true good definition of what “boys being boys” is. Sure some of their jokes might be a tad inappropriate for small children but for the most part they just do stupid entertaining stuff like being obsessed over a jiggly shrimp in a VR room. And that brings a smile to my face everytime.

Now if it somehow comes out that they faked being friends for the fans I will be saddened and furious. But that’s not going to happen. Right? But seriously go check out The Boys youtube channel it’s supper fun to watch.

I’M SO FUCKING EXCITED

Oh my god finally 2020 has given me something good. I’m getting a live action Netflix Assassin’s Creed show! As the title says I’m so fucking excited this is literally my favorite game and it was just yesterday that I got 100% sync on Assassin’s Creed 3. This is a god send, I’m going to be floating on air for at least the next week because of this news.

It’s also great because I don’t need to much to be the same as the games for me to love it. Of course I would love it to be Ezio’s/Desmond’s storyline because they’re my favorites so far but I don’t actually need that to love it. All I really need is awesome parkour, hidden blades, and the creed to be spoken at least once in it’s entirety. That’s the great things about Assassin’s Creed is that the universe is so open that they could make up some new story lines. But if Netflix does choose to do Ezio’s and Desmond’s storyline then that could probably last them 3 to 4 seasons and more jumpy, climby, staby the better!

I can’t wait till Netflix tells us more about what the plot and casting is going to be and if they put as much effort as they did into The Witcher this show is going to be great. I just hope I don’t have to wait years for it because I need this now! But hey at least the knowledge that this is happening makes up for losing so many news movies this year.

Pumpkin!

I just want to share the awesome pumpkin I carved! I am super proud of it, it might me relatively simple but I think it’s great. I was actually worried that it wouldn’t have worked out so I pre-cut holes out of paper with the picture and shined a light through it to make sure it worked and it did! The hardest part was putting a candle in at the right place to make sure the light shined through the back! I hope you like it as much as I do!

To haunt or not to haunt

As many people know in the game Among Us when you get killed you become a ghost and can still run around the map and finish tasks. Which F.Y.I. kinda doesn’t make sense because you know you’re a ghost, and ghost can touch things. But that’s not the purpose of this post, the purpose is to share an idea I have for future updates in the game.

My idea is that when you are a ghost you should be able to choose a player to “haunt”. By that I mean that person will be the only living person that can see your ghost around. I love this idea because this would be perfect for the times you get voted out because one person lied and caused everyone to follow them for no reason. Just imagine what would be going through the persons head who was the instigator of your death and the ghost of the person who they got killed is just following them around. I think this could also make people actually try finding proof instead of yelling sus for no reason since they can actually see the consequences of their actions. Plus it’s the only way that that player can know how pissed off I am for being killed just because I was sus. I’m not bitter your bitter!

But really I feel like it would be a fun addition to the game!

Guilty until proven innocent

Wait, don’t you mean innocent until proven guilty? Nope not in the game Among Us.

Okay, first some background on the game for those who don’t know Among Us. It is an awesome game thats basically a murder mystery game. 1, 2, or 3 of players are an “Imposter” and their only goal is to kill everyone else who is a “Crewmate” who have to do tasks and figure out who the Imposter is and vote them off.

I love this game it lets me live out my crime drama fantasies of catching killers as a Crewmate. Which unlike most other players I prefer more then being the Imposter, which is definitely not because I’m usually shit at killing the other players *wink wink*.

Rant time! Woohoo! Okay I’ve determined there are two types of people who play Among Us. The first is people who watch crime/procedural dramas and the second if you can guess is those that don’t. There are no complaints on the first type, they look for proof and alibis and other evidence of guilt a.k.a. the innocent till proven guilty type of person before they vote someone off. And if you can guess the second is guilty till proven innocent type. They will vote someone off just because they were going to the same places as them or for no reason at all! They will also vote someone off even though the person is saying that the can prove that they’re innocent if just given chance. But noooo they will just keep saying you’re sus(suspicious) and every other dumbass playing will just be like okay lets listen to this person with no proof! Which definitely never happened to me and which definitely never made me want to use the term sheeple before.

But besides my anger(which is totally deserved) at a certain type of player I love playing this game especially when its with people who want to take it seriously! So I’m going to tell everyone to play this game!
