Orlando Trip

I just went on a trip to Universal and Epcot and decided to rank all the rides I went on. Starting from least favorite to the best ever! (they were all fun just some were more fun then others)

Soarin’ Around the World

It was a nice, relaxing, and cool ride. I just wish it was a little bit more immersive, it had the smells sure, but I would have liked it if there was more “wind’ at parts or even little spritzes of water at other parts. All in all 5 out of 10.

Spaceship Earth

It would have been a boring ride but I thought the animatronics were pretty cool. So, a 6 out of 10.

The Seas with Nemo and Friends

This was kind of the same as Spaceship Earth except it has that bonus that comes from being connected to Nemo. So a 6.5 out of 10.

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

It was a fun immersive ride I’m just not sure if the long line we waited in was worth it, 7 out of 10.

The Incredible Hulk Coaster

I’ve really enjoyed the Hulk ride in the past but I guess I forgot about the whiplash that knocks my head around so that’s not that good. But it also gets a point for being connected to Marvel so all in all a 7.5 out of 10.

Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey

I would love to give this ride a perfect score but it tends to make me nauseous if I’m not prepared for it so I have to give it a 7.7 out of 10.

Revenge of the Mummy

A nice indoor roller coaster that doesn’t make me nauseous but some moments that kind of ruin the momentum. So an 8 out of 10.

VelociCoaster

An awesome roller coaster that’s nonstop thrills and the bonus points for not making me nauseous or hurting my head! 8.5 out of 10.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

Same as the VelociCoaster but inside. For some reason I really like indoor coasters, the darkness just makes the ride that much better. So it gets a 9 out of 10.

Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure

This ride is by far my favorite roller coaster of all time! I sat on the bike side and the whole time I leaned forward holding the handlebars and vroom vroomed by way to ecstasy. 10 out of 10! (if we didn’t have a whole park to do I would have done it again.)

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Review

Wakanda Forever was a perfect and worthy sequel. I enjoyed it just as much and maybe even a little bit more than the first. As usual, it had amazing acting, CGI, and music so I’m not going to bother talking about the obvious. But there are 2 specific things I do want to talk about. First is of course Shuri’s journey throughout this movie. She was already pretty fun, to begin with, but seeing her go through this emotional journey gave her character the depth that she needed. Shuri went from being the fun, smart aleck, younger sister to a strong warrior.

Now, the second thing I want to talk about is Namor of course. More specifically I want to talk about how I enjoyed the fact that for 90% of the movie Namor was a straight-up villain. I would say there were only a few moments where I felt where he was coming from, but then he immediately said some stupid-ass villain stuff and I was like “oh yeah never mind you’re bad bad not misunderstood bad”. I can’t help comparing him to Killmoger whose movie did a good job of making you feel conflicted about him. While in Wakanda Forever it did a really good job of making sure Namor was seen as a villain. Sure he might have had a “good and noble” motivation but he just kept saying and doing very bad things. And that felt very refreshing for me, after watching a bunch of movies with a bunch of complex villains who you can’t help but wonder if they were right. You know sometimes you just want a bad guy who’s a bad guy and nothing more.

So I feel like this movie gets a nice and solid 8 out of 10.

She-Hulk Review

I loved She-Hulk and it’s definitely my 2nd favorite MCU show so far, just behind Moon Knight. It had me laughing every episode followed by excitement for the next episode. Which truthfully not many of the other shows have left me that desire for next weeks episode to come faster. I think the best part of the show was that it didn’t take itself too seriously, it was just plain fun. Honestly, I feel like She-Hulk succeed where Thor Love and Thunder fell short. It had that fun sitcom feel but when it did have those few moments of seriousness they stuck and actually felt like they had an impact. Of course, I have to mention my love of all the cameos(especially one blind lawyer) and the 4th wall breaks. Every single 4th wall break and cameo was amazing and I am shocked about how much this show makes me want Matt and Jen to be end game! I was not expecting that!

On the other hand I know a lot of people hated this show and shat on every little detail but I truly do not understand where their hate is coming from. Now, I will admit there were maybe twoish times in the entire show where the CGI was lacking but it was only for a minute and I quickly moved on. I just don’t understand why some people are so harsh on a show that was just having fun and letting loose. And so I give the show a 9 out of 10.

Werewolf by Night Review

As a lover of werewolves and all things supernatural, I was very excited for Werewolf by Night. And let me just say I was not disappointed. I was a little worried a first because I’m not the biggest fan of black-and-white movies but it fit really well with the whole feel of the movie. I’ve seen a lot of people saying that it has that classic monster movie feel and I totally agree. While I really enjoyed the action, my favorite part was Jack and Ted’s relationship!! They were the cutest best friends ever, and I can not wait to see more of them together.

Now, sadly for my 2 complaints. Number 1… I wish it was longer!!!! That’s not really a complaint I just really wish that I had more because it was a super fun movie. But now time for my real complaint, the werewolf. First, I feel like I need to explain that I’m very picky with what my favorite type of werewolf looks like so that’s why I had a small problem with Werewolf by Night. Basically, I like my werewolves to be more wolfie, you know…longer snout, tail, the works. So, I’m not a huge fan of the more hairy human werewolf but I usually learn to love it when the characters and story are good enough. Which this one is! So, all in all I give Werewolf by Night a solid 9 out of 10 and I can’t wait to see where else the supernatural side of the MCU is going!

Thor Love and Thunder Review

I feel conflicted with this movie because, on one hand, I had a lot of fun watching it in theaters while on the other hand, I’ve been enjoying the more serious MCU movies more than this one. So, I both liked and just a teeny bit disliked it. My only, but pretty significant, problem was that there were too many jokes. It was constantly one joke after another, which is fine for a plain old comedy, but for a movie that is also trying to go over some serious stuff, it’s a little much. Almost any serious moment is basically forgotten because it’s overshadowed by funny. While Love and Thunder is definitely not in my top 10 MCU movies I do think it’s a good addition. I feel like it makes a good palate cleanser you know, after watching some sad/darker ones you get to watch a nice cheery one.

I also reluctantly feel like I have to mention the one thing that people would not shut up about with this movie…the CGI. I hope I’m not the only one here but I did not give a shit about “bad” CGI. I don’t know if I’m just easy to please when it comes to special effects but Thor was completely fine to me. Sure when people posted stills on Twitter they looked pretty fake but not once did I notice anything that looked like shit when watching the movie. And I like to think that that has something to do with the fact that movies are meant to be watched when they’re playing not when they’re paused.

So, all together I would give Thor Love and Thunder a 7 out of 10. Good but not my favorite.

Doctor Strange 2 Review

Even though the internet has already let the cats out of the bag I’m still going to attempt to review this without spoilers (mostly to challenge myself). First things first this movie was crazy! It was an insane and brutal rollercoaster ride of a movie that I enjoyed every second of.

The main thing I enjoyed, which many have already mentioned, is that this movie is another example of how this Phase is becoming darker/more mature. This change can not only be seen in the more violent fights but also in the darker themes of trauma, abuse, and of course loss throughout the MCU. It feels cliché to say but I just really love how this Phase is getting darker since it almost feels like the MCU has been growing up alongside me.

On a less serious note, I also can’t get enough of how they do the different types of magic. They always look so cool(especially all the different colors for all the spells) and I can’t wait to see even more magic in the rest of Phase 4. All in all, I give this movie a 9 out of 10.

Morbius Review

First things first this movie did not deserve the amount of hate it’s getting. Was it perfect? No. But it wasn’t horrible either. I thought it was perfectly fine. I do wish it was so much better then it was because I was super hyped for Morbius, but not every movie can be amazing sadly.

For me there was really only one huge flaw and that was that it was super fast. Like someone I know described it as it seemed like it was playing at 1.5 speed. Which makes complete sense. It moved so quickly from one scene to the next that it left almost no time for character/plot development. It feels like they just wanted to get Morbius’s origin story over quickly so they could move straight into the meet up movies. Which I don’t necessarily fault them for wanting to do if it’s true.

But besides the quickness I didn’t really mind the rest of it. That might also be because I love vampire stuff so I was just really happy to have a superhero vampire mashup movie. That is probably why I’m trying to be optimistic about possible future team ups with Venom. All in all I’d give Morbius a 6 out of 10. Not great but average.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage Review

Comedy then carnage. Carnage then comedy. Which is exactly what you get with Venom’s sequel, and it is perfect. The whole time I went back and forth between laughing and gasping which was great. That’s what I think makes the first one and Let There Be Carnage so great. They’re movies that don’t take themselves too seriously, you’re basically given the opportunity to just enjoy some crazy destruction while laughing.

But honestly the destruction comes second place to the dysfunctional relationship between Venom and Eddie. I mean come on, I love those two together! Just seeing them trying to live together is hilarious. I can only imagine what trouble those two will get into in future sequels. Which brings me to the insane mid-credit scene! I’ve been seeing people describe it as a doozy and since I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone so all I have to say is that it is exactly that a doozy. Most mid and post credits are kind of vague but this one is anything but!

I only have one complaint with this movie and that is the same one for the first movie too (which a lot of people would agree with) and that is the fact that it should be an R rated movie. More explicit violence and carnage is the only thing that would make it better since that would make it fit to the characters more accurately.

All of this combines to making Venom: Let There Be Carnage not only a great sequel but a great movie on it’s own and I would give it an 8 out of 10.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings Review

When I first heard about this movie I got super excited because I never heard of this character before and I was really interested to see what it be like. And let’s just say I was not disappointed. I feel cliché and like I’m copying even single commercial when I say this but this movie is indeed breathtaking, magical, beautiful, awe-inspiring, and every other word they like to use for every commercial ever.

I honestly enjoyed this movie so much and it is definitely one of my top 5 MCU movies(I’m a diehard Iron Man fan so nothing can really top those ones). I’ve talked about this before in another review but this movie had that spark! You know, that something special that makes it stand out from the other MCU movies. Whether that’s the flawless fight choreography (I mean seriously that shit was top notch), the amazing duo of Simu and Awkwafina together (loved them!), or Shang-Chi’s amazing jacket that I may or may not be sexually attracted to…just kidding(or am I?). But serious time now, I had so much fun watching it. It was action packed, funny, and emotional at times. This movie was made even better for me knowing that Simu wanted to play Shang-Chi so bad. For me when I know how much an actor or actress loves a character I can feel that when watching it and it makes it that much more better. So, as you might have guessed I give this movie a defiant 10 out of 10.

Black Widow Review

This might be late but as they say “better late then never”, so I’m going to dive straight in. All around Black Widow was a top tier movie but when you compare it to the rest of of the MCU it was actually kind of a low tier movie in my opinion. Obviously it had great acting, filming, special effects(you know the works), which is to only to be expected from an MCU so that doesn’t really amaze me anymore. Besides the basics I felt like the movie was lacking that special something that makes most MCU movies so great.

But I think the biggest reason why Black Widow was a let down for me was my massive disappointment with how they did Taskmaster. Now I’m no super fan or expert on Taskmaster but I was really excited to see what they did with the character. I was looking forward to seeing a badass cold-hearted mercenary who only cared about making money. I especially wanted that cliche line… you know the one that goes like “It’s not personal, it’s just business”. But instead of that we got a lobotomized trauma victim, which when you compare Taskmaster to the other Widows in the movie it wasn’t anything different. So, they basically turned someone who could have been a really unique character into a prop.

Now you’re probably thinking all of this means I think you shouldn’t see the movie but you’d actually be wrong. Sure it’s not the greatest movie but it’s defiantly worth it to see in theaters. Especially when you look at it as supporting movie theaters and even Scarlett Johansson. So, all around I would give the movie a 6.5 out of 10.
