Hope and Predictions for Ted Lasso Season 3

I was thinking about this recently so I wanted to share some of what I hope will happen and what I think will happen in season 3 of Ted Lasso.

Hopes

  • Something explaining what Baz, Jeremy, and Paul do for a living that allows them to always be at the pub in the middle of the day.
  • An episode showing what Dani, Colin, and Zoreaux do on their days off (maybe even Richard, Bumbercatch, and Jan Maas).
  • One more scene with Tommy aka Ussie kid.
  • I know a lot of people want Ted and Rebecca together(which I’m fine with if it does happen) but I’d like it better if they stay just close friends since we have so few non-sexual male/female friendships in media I think it’d be a good example to have.
  • And the most important is that I need to know what Coach Beard’s first name is and if Beard is really his last name or is it just a nickname because he has a beard?!?!?!?!?!

Predictions

  • The most obvious is that Richmond will win it all.
  • Roy and Keeley will be broken up at the beginning but will get back together by the end of the show. The classic “if you love something set it free and if it was meant to be it will come back” situation.
  • Nate will have a redemption arc that will include him inevitably failing at being a head coach which will cause him to hit rock bottom and then Ted will help him redeem himself.

9-1-1 Season 6 Fall Finale Review

Ever since I finally bit the bullet and started watching this show after watching a million and one clips on Facebook I have loved it. My favorite part is that it somehow feels both ridiculous and legit simultaneously. Like it has some out-of-this-world scenarios but the way they go about solving the problem is very matter-of-factly. Which I like much better than other medical dramas that almost seem pretentious by comparison. This show only takes itself seriously in one aspect and that’s the character drama. I love every last character and can’t wait to see where their lives go.

Okay now that I talked about the show in general here are my thoughts on this half of the season. If you haven’t caught up then sucks for you because this is going to have some big spoilers. I’ve enjoyed most of the drama besides one part… Buck being a sperm donor for his friend. I’m just worried about how complicated this is going to become. Because Bucks already thinking of himself as a dad and it’s going to crush him when the parents inevitably don’t want him in the baby’s life. And I can’t deal with anything hurting my Buck(he’s my favorite obviously). But besides Bucks’ drama, everyone else’s drama was at a normal level with a normal chance of resolving itself. I give this show an 8 out of 10 and can’t wait to see how the current drama unfolds when it comes back in the spring.

Oh yeah I almost forgot to add that I’m one of those fans who really really really want Eddie and Buck to get together so I hope one day soon that happens!

Pepsi, Where’s My Jet? Review

I don’t watch a lot of documentaries/docuseries but when I do they usually fall into two categories. Number one is cult docs and number two is what I would call “fun” docs. By fun docs I mean documentaries that are less serious, deal with lighter topics, and are about random events, not ones that deal with murder and such. Obviously, Pepsi, Where’s My Jet? falls into the second category and I loved it. I think it had everything that a good docuseries needs to be entertaining. The first and most important thing was that it had the facts and interviews from both sides. When a doc only has interviews from one side, no matter how factually or honest it is, there’s always a part of your mind that wonders what’s the other side’s point of view. Since this show had both sides present you don’t have to wonder and can easily make up your mind which is a huge bonus for me. They also made it really entertaining to watch by having the reenactments. The reenactments were able to give it a less serious feel that a lot of serial killer docs have which in turn took the “pressure” off. With a lot of documentaries I feel like there’s almost an overarching “pressure” to feel sad or angry but with Pepsi, Where’s My Jet? the only thing you have to do is be entertained. So, I would of course give this show a 10 out of 10.

P.S. If I was John and had the same connections he did I would totally do the same!

P.S.S. He should have gotten the jet! (or at least the equivalent monetary value of the jet)

Why I want Logan Lerman to play Poseidon.

Before I get started I have to say that realistically I know he won’t be cast as Poseidon but I can dream, can’t I?! Ok now back to my musings.

First, I just straight up believe that he would be a good choice. He’s a great actor and he has that nice scruffy look now that would be great for Poseidon. Like are you really going to try and say that this man wouldn’t make a perfect Poseidon? I will die on that hill!

Also, he played a great dead body in Bullet Train so how much harder would it be to play a deadbeat dad?

My second reason is of course connected to nostalgia but it’s more complicated than that. I think a lot of people would agree with me that Logan as Percy was probably the one good thing that came from those movies (and if not then I guess I’m the weird one then). While the rest of it was pretty shitty he was the bright light in the darkness, so I think casting him would be a good way to I guess honor that in a way. Or I think that it would at least would be a nice way to acknowledge that the movies were a thing. Sure a bad thing but they still deserve some acknowledgment in my eyes (I might be the odd man out in that sense). I also think about the fact that his name is always going to be connected to Percy Jackson so why don’t they make that connection a good one instead of a negative one. It would especially feel like a nice nod to older PJO fans like me, that first learned of the series because of the first movie, by giving the casting an almost redemption arc-like feel.

So, those are my opinions about Poseidon’s casting and I really hope I’m not the only one who thinks this.

Warrior Season 1 & 2 Review

I binged all of seasons 1 and 2 of Warrior for the first time this weekend and I loved it! I have zero complaints. The martial arts…perfection. The plot…intriguing. The characters…amazing. The costumes(especially Ah Toy’s and Mai Ling’s)…to die for. Seriously I love every outfit that those two come out with and would love to wear some of the outfits myself. But I think I specifically loved the fact that there was every type of character that you could want. By that I mean there was the complex main character, the complex “villain” who you can’t make up your mind if you hate them or not, the morally grey character, the good one, the crazy guy who you just love, the character that you absolutely hate and want them to burn in a fire slowly and painful(I’m talking about you Buckley you piece of shit!), and many more. Every character in this show has “someone’s favorite character” vibe. Except Buckley, if he’s your favorite there is something completely wrong with you. I hate Buckley in case you didn’t realize.

On another note, I’m super excited that it’s getting a 3rd season and I want to talk a little bit about my 2 main hopes for the next season. Both are pretty corny just to warn you. Number 1 is that I hope that Ah Sahm and Mai Ling reconcile. I just want to see the siblings happy together and preferably work together to take down some new big bad that’s threatening them. Number 2 and probably the corniest is that I really want Ah Sahm and Penny to be end game. I just love those two together, I feel like their personalities complement each other very well. But really I give this show a 10 out of 10 and can’t wait for more.

The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself Review

I’m a big fan of the Half Bad Trilogy so I was excited when I heard Netflix was making a show based on the series. Since I was that excited I hate saying it since it’s so cliché, but… the book was better. Now, don’t get me wrong I do think the show is good and I definitely do want them to make more because I am interested to see where it’s going. Especially since they changed sooooooo much which means I would have no idea where they’d go in a second season. Which then means I wouldn’t have much to compare it to.

But, I still have to say that I was pretty disappointed because the book was extremely heart-wrenching. I felt like I was crying every other page, so I was pretty shocked at how good Nathan’s life was in the show compared to the book. That was probably my biggest problem with the show. I can get over changing characters’ powers for no reason or even removing characters altogether. But what really got me was how the trauma Nathan went through in the show was an extremely pale imitation of what book Nathan went through. I was both expecting and excited to be like “Oh my gosh that’s even worse seeing it than reading it!” so I was kind of let down when my heart wasn’t even given the chance to be broken.

Even though I wasn’t extremely happy with the show I did enjoy it. My favorite part was the casting of Nathan and Gabriel. Now I will forever picture them from the show whenever I read the books again which I see as a sign of good casting. I also thought the special effects for the magic were really good. So, when I put the good and the bad together I would give the show a 6 out of 10. With a strong possibility of getting better with more seasons.

Young Royals Season 2 Review

I absolutely loved the first season so it’s no surprise that I adored the second too. And before I say anything there will be potential spoilers so don’t hate me if I spoil anything. This season had my emotions on a rollercoaster the whole time. One moment I was joyful seeing Wilhelm learning how to not only deal with his emotions but also learn that his feelings are indeed valid. Next, I was getting frustrated at Simon for basically convincing himself that he needs to move on from Wilhelm even though he still loves him. And don’t get me started on the whole separate rollercoaster that was the show seeming to try and get me to forgive August, even though I never want to forgive that douche nozzle ever! (don’t worry if you’re like me and want August to still be a shitty person, he’s still can’t help being shitty) Oh and I can’t forget the unexpected craziness that came from Sara learning about the pitfalls of love.

This season was just plain great. Even the parts that made me question what they were doing ended up going in a satisfying direction. One unexpected surprise in this season was that I might actually be on my way to forgiving the Queen, well that actually depends on how she reacts to that season finale. Which I hope can only mean there will be a season 3 because we can’t end the show on that bombshell of an ending. So, once again Young Royals was an amazing show and I give it a 10 out of 10.

The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power Review

There have been a lot of conflicting reviews for the Rings of Power so I’m here to give you a completely unbiased review from a person that knows around 10 things total about Lord of the Rings(and most of those are just names). I know this is one of those shows where a bunch of people just keep shitting on it but I truly don’t know what’s their problem with it. I thought the special effects and cgi was great, the sets and costumes were beautiful( especially the weapons and armor oooh do I love me a cool ass dagger and some cool ass armor), and of course my favorite part was the characters.

The duos of Elrond and Durin and Nori and Poppy were to die for! I love me some undying friendships. Now is the part I talk about some spoilers, so sorry in advance. I first have to mention that I waited to watch the show till after all the episodes came out so I had things spoiled for me by Twitter by accident. Specifically that Halbrand is the one and only Sauron. And I’m actually kind of happy that I had that spoiled for me because I was able to skip the feelings of betrayal and immediately switch to the “you be your bad bitch self Halbrand”, “no one’s a better Dark Lord than you”, and of course “aww there goes my little evil boy growing up and creating his own evil empire”. I just really enjoyed the show and can’t wait to see more(especially more of the dwarves and my favorite Halbrand/Sauron) and so I’d give it an 8 out of 10.

She-Hulk Review

I loved She-Hulk and it’s definitely my 2nd favorite MCU show so far, just behind Moon Knight. It had me laughing every episode followed by excitement for the next episode. Which truthfully not many of the other shows have left me that desire for next weeks episode to come faster. I think the best part of the show was that it didn’t take itself too seriously, it was just plain fun. Honestly, I feel like She-Hulk succeed where Thor Love and Thunder fell short. It had that fun sitcom feel but when it did have those few moments of seriousness they stuck and actually felt like they had an impact. Of course, I have to mention my love of all the cameos(especially one blind lawyer) and the 4th wall breaks. Every single 4th wall break and cameo was amazing and I am shocked about how much this show makes me want Matt and Jen to be end game! I was not expecting that!

On the other hand I know a lot of people hated this show and shat on every little detail but I truly do not understand where their hate is coming from. Now, I will admit there were maybe twoish times in the entire show where the CGI was lacking but it was only for a minute and I quickly moved on. I just don’t understand why some people are so harsh on a show that was just having fun and letting loose. And so I give the show a 9 out of 10.
