Nerd Thoughts

Yup, you read that right this post is a review of the Kidz Bop concert I attended this past weekend. And before I get into the review I feel like I need to clarify for the record that I went with my sister and our niece and nephew. Let’s start with the good first, I was actually pleasantly surprised by the concert. Like most adults(probably) I always cringe a little when I hear a Kidz Bop version of a song so I was expecting the concert to be 10 times worse than that. Surprisingly it wasn’t really bad at all. But what made the concert pretty good was how much all the kids were enjoying it. There were so many kids getting really into the music, which was super entertaining. I do have to say though that the highlight for me was seeing a kid in front of us(we had lawn tickets) laying down just vibing and reading a book. That kid was living the life and I applaud him.

Now time for the bad part. I was pretty disappointed because there were only 4 Kidz Bop kids singing. I was expecting main singers, backup singers, dancers the whole shebang so it was kind of a letdown when half of the stage was empty. I think I thought there were going to be more people since most Kidz Bop songs sound like there are a bunch of kids singing. I kept expecting more kids and of course, was surprised when no one else appeared. So when you combine the good and the bad I would say a Kidz Bop concert is very middle ground, not great but not terrible.
