I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this book, and loved every second of it! It wholly deserves all the hype it’s getting on Bookstagram and Booktok. And since I can’t get enough of this story, I want to list some of my favorite parts(sorry for any spoilers). First is, of course, the shining example of my perfect book boyfriend, Xaden Riorson! Morally gray with a heart of gold, dark-haired, and shadow powers!!! Be still my beating heart! He is everything I could want in a male mc. Now on the other side of the coin… Violet Sorrengail. Where Xaden is my ideal male mc, Violet is definitely my ideal female mc. I love it when a character becomes a super badass despite what others say.
Another thing I want to mention is another obvious one… the spice. As someone who rarely reads spicy books, and when I do they’re usually behind-closed-doors type spice, this book was the perfect amount of spice. Not too much, not too little, and just the right amount of on-page descriptions. This is just another example of how great this book is.
Weirdly enough, I don’t feel that significant of a need to discuss the best part of the book… the dragons. Dragons are the best things ever so what else do I have to say except that every single dragon in this book is the bestest boy and bestest girl. I would die for every single one, even though they don’t need my protection. Although on the topic of dragons, I do have to take back what I said at the beginning, there is one bad thing I do have to say. I am sad that my all-time favorite type of dragon, the wyvern(2 legs and 2 wings for those who don’t know), are the bad ones. But even though it breaks my heart that in this depiction they’re abominations I at least have some cool-ass other dragons to love.
So as you might have guessed I of course give this book a 10 out of 10.
