I’m not a fan of horror movies, but I am a huge fan of Dracula, so I obviously had to watch this. And after watching it, I have 3 main takeaways. The first being that it wasn’t as horrory as I expected(luckily for me). Sure, it had a plethora of scary moments but not the type/amount that had me cringing in fear the whole time. Which I appreciate a whole lot.
Now my next two takeaways have spoilers, so watch out. I was surprised that they actually killed the kid! I knew that almost everyone was going to die(mostly because I’d seen the boat ride in another Dracula show), but I thought at least the kid and one other person were going to survive. So, when the kid died I was a little impressed because they usually don’t kill the kid.
My last takeaway is not a good one, sadly. I was disappointed that Anna wasn’t a willing bride of Dracula. I was hoping for some big betrayal/twist at the end, where we learned that she was actually on Dracula’s side. So, it was kind of boring to me that she also wanted to stop Dracula.
So with all of this in mind, I would give this movie a 7 out of 10.
