I know this is super late to the game, but I still wanted to share some of my thoughts on season 2 of Good Omens. First and foremost, I really love this show, but some details disappointed me this season. Also, keep in mind that all of these opinions come from someone who has only watched the show and knows diddly squat about the book. Now, as a whole, I thought it was a great second season but if these two things were changed I would have been ecstatic about it. The first is that I wish there was more downtime before shit started to hit the fan. I was really hoping for an episode or two of Crowley and Aziraphale just going about their daily lives without the worry from the Apocalypse or Heaven and Hell. That would have been really fun and cute to watch.
My second issue was having Gabriel and Beelzebub get together before Crowley and Aziraphale. I was under the impression that relationships between angels and demons were at least rare, if not scandalous. So, for me, it kind of lessened the impact of Crowley’s and Aziraphale’s relationship by basically having them be beaten out by two of the big honchos from both sides. Sure, it makes sense and is a good storyline I just wish Aziracrow was first.
I want to make it clear that my two issues with this season didn’t make them “bad” at all I just would have liked it even more than I do if they were different. So I’m giving this season an 8 out of 10.
