Assassin’s Creed Rogue Review

After a lot of slogging, I finally finished Rogue! I’ve been slowly making my way through the series and this one was really tough for me to get through. Not because it was a bad game, but because I am a hardcore Assassin supporter and Templar hater. It was constantly crushing my soul playing as the bad guys! But I was able to ignore that most of the time when I was doing side quests and such. Even though I was angry with Shay, I still relatively enjoyed playing it because it was an Assassin’s Creed game. I absolutely can’t get enough of the parkour and stealth aspects of these games. Although my preference for stealth attacks over open attacks was an area of contention in this game. There were quite a few times when I wanted to be stealthy, but the way things were set up made it next to impossible to do that, so that diminished my enjoyment a little.

Strangely enough, despite my dislike of the actual story, I only really have one critique. And no, that’s not the animus/modern-time stuff. While a bunch of people hate that part of the Creed games, I actually really like that bit. It kind of makes the games feel more real to me, and it reminds me that Abstergo/Templars are bad. But the one critique I did have was that at the very end after the first credits and your character is asked if you want to join the Templars(or die), I think they should have added a bit that actually let you choose. Either it ends with your character’s hand grabbing the ring or you get killed. I feel like that would have added a nice touch at the end on the whole Assassins vs. Templar bit.

So, all together I would give Rogue a 7 out of 10.
