I’m always on the hunt for a good vampire movie, so when I saw this one was coming on Netflix I had to watch it immediately. Now, I wouldn’t say it was great, but it was definitely a solid movie. It was solid enough that I would be really interested in a sequel. Unfortunately, I just wish there was more, and by more, I mean more of everything. I wish it was longer, I wish there was more background for all the characters(especially Harlan’s childhood), but mostly I wanted Harlan to be more vampire. I’m very picky when it comes to Dampyrs in the media I consume, so I wasn’t surprised that Harlan wasn’t vampire enough for me. I usually prefer my dampyrs to be almost normal vampires, just with less weakness but in turn, have weaker powers. Basically, all of this is to say that I wanted him to be less human than he was. So I would have to give this movie a 6 out of 10.
