A Court of Silver Flames Review

Time for the latest ACOTAR series book review! I’m going to start this off by saying that I went into this book annoyed. I was a hardcore Nesta hater, so when I realized that this book was mostly from her POV I was not happy. And then add that to the fact that I also just in general hate it when a series changes POVs to a character that I care less about made that annoyance even stronger. Now, before anyone gets excited that I have been converted to a Nesta lover I’m going to clarify that, no I don’t hate her anymore, but I definitely still don’t like her. I especially do not, under any circumstances, want an entire book from her POV again. The occasional POV in another book like ACOFAS is fine, but anymore, no way.

While the choice of the POV wasn’t my favorite I was still pretty okay with the book as a whole, but unfortunately, I do have to say that it’s at the bottom of the ACOTAR book list. That’s because my biggest issue with this one(besides Nesta) is not necessarily the amount but the type of sex. When there’s sex in the books I read, I prefer it to be more emotional and less basic lust. I like it when the characters develop their relationship first, and then they can’t keep their hands off each other. Love then lust, basically. And obviously, ACOSF is the exact opposite, lots and lots of lust followed by love waaaay after.

All of that being said, I do appreciate how the book almost felt like a vacation from the overarching plot. And it’s got me excited that hopefully, the next book will go back to Feyre and Rhys’s POV. I mean, come on, I need more of them considering that the only time I actually cried when reading ACOSF was during the birth scene. So, all of this makes me give Silver Flames a 7.5 out of 10.

I loved this one! It was a nice addition to the original series that wrapped up with ACOWAR. I suspect the next one is going to be Elain’s POV/story.

    1. I’m suspecting that too. I just hope that the series eventually goes back the Feyre and Rhysands pov, they’re my favorites! Especially now that Nyx exists I want to see them being parents!!

I HIGHLY recommend you read Crescent City, if you haven’t already!

        1. I’m definitely going to get to it at some point. I’m currently finishing The Cruel Prince.
