After hearing about a certain prince with a tail on Instagram, I knew I had to read this book(I love a character with a tail). Now, after being pretty excited to start reading the book, I feel a little conflicted. It’s not that I didn’t like the book I just wanted more, specifically more romance. I was hoping for way more interaction between Jude and Carden. That being said I did enjoy the book but what I liked even more was the potential for the rest of the series. The best way I can explain this book is that it was the pilot episode of a show. It has just enough stuff going on that it gets you hooked for the rest of the show.
On a semi-unrelated note, I have to say that Taryn is a shitty sister! Like what the fuck! You’re fine with your betrothed-to-be going after your sister and then you have the audacity to be mad at her for being mad at you that you let her heart get broken?!?!?! I get it you want to fit in in Faerie, but come on, your twin sister is a little bit more important than a douche. I was fuming after their duel!
Despite the minimal amount of enemies-to-lovers, I still liked this book and am very excited for the next one, so I will give The Cruel Prince a 7 out of 10.
