Live-action ATLA: Thoughts #2

With the live-action show coming out next week, I wanted to once again share my thoughts. I’ve tried to stay pessimistic with this show so that I’m not disappointed, but I can’t lie to myself anymore… I am super excited for this show. I can’t help it, especially since I know it can’t be any worse than the movie. Now, you might think that all of the changes that have been mentioned on Twitter recently might have ruined that excitement, but they still haven’t. Well, that’s not 100% true, whenever I came across a mention of a change I did get worried a bit, but not for the reason you probably think. I mostly got worried because I’m afraid that with every change the purist fans are going to keep shitting on it and won’t support it/give it a chance and if the show doesn’t get support/views then there’s no chance we’ll get to see the whole series. And unlike some people, I’m actually very interested in seeing a more mature/serious Avatar The Last Airbender, so when I hear about these various changes I’m intrigued. Sure, I love the silliness at times of the animated show, but if I want that silliness I can just watch the original I don’t also need it in the live-action. Honestly, I’m just tired of people shitting on the show before they’ve even watched it. Now, I know there’s a remote possibility that after I watch the show I’ll hate it, and if that happens I’ll eat my words, but I truly don’t think that will happen. Basically, all of this is just to say I can’t wait to watch the new show!
