Bride Review

There are so many details I loved about this book but I first want to focus on my baby girl Misery. Her sass and sarcasm are top-notch! But even better than that is how obtuse and completely oblivious she is to love. There are certain times in books when the characters annoy you so much with their stupidity but you can’t help but love every second of it. This book was a shining example of that, and I couldn’t have been more entertained. Watching Misery experience real love for the first time was the most heart-filling thing ever. Not to mention this book had one of my favorite tropes(I’d call it lesser known) of all time… a character not being able to sleep unless they’re cuddled up/laying in the lap of the love interest!!! I don’t know why but when that happens in a story it always makes me cry or at least tear up.

I also feel like I have to mention my appreciation of the fact that Lowe semi-pulled a Rhys by not admitting the mate thing until Misery was already in love. Smart move on his part. Because I know if it was me, knowing before the relationship was established would make it feel uncomfortable/unnatural/forced.

The only bad thing I have to say about Bride is that I find it unrealistic that the different species wouldn’t know the basics of what is fact vs myth for the other species. Sure specifics and the little details I could get them not knowing, but whether vampyres could turn into bats or werewolves bite is infectious not a chance. Also, I do have to say that I’m very disappointed that there wasn’t a widdle vampyre werewolf baby at the end! But despite that sadness, I would give this book a 9 out of 10.
