Exile(The Caein Legacy Book 1) Review

This was the final book in my recent dragon book binge, and it ended on a pretty good note. It wasn’t my favorite out of the 3 different books I read, but I still really liked it. My favorite part was world-building. I think I’ve mentioned it before, but I really love seeing the different details authors put into a medieval fantasy world to make it their own. This book was no exception, it had the classic kingdom setup, but the magic details, specifically the ones for skin changers were great.

While I loved the world and the story as a whole, I had one pretty huge problem with this book. That is the fact that everything was way too quick. The biggest issue was Andrew’s love life; everything moved so fast and we barely got to see anything of the year Andrew was married to Vera, so when she died, it wasn’t that big of a deal. Sure it was a little sad, but it wasn’t tragic. Things also tended to move on from one thing to the next really fast, which sometimes gave me whiplash. I just wish more time was spent describing things or adding more scenes. It would have felt less rushed that way. So, all in all, I would give this book a 6.5 out of 10 I’m not sure when but I will definitely continue this series eventually.
