Oh man as a Chaol fan, this book started at a real low point, so much so that I almost thought I’d have to give it a bad review. But then I had to remind myself that only a good book can affect my emotions like that. Besides I didn’t have to worry about that low point much because by the end my boy was better(in a way *wink wink*). It twas a real roller coaster of emotions.
While I was sad and disappointed(at Chaol, not the book) during the first half of the book part two hit me like a ton of bricks! I went from slugging along to devouring the moment part 2 started, and don’t even get me started on those last 100 pages. Seriously, SJM does not disappoint with those last 100 pages. It was wild! So, despite the rough start I’m actually going to give this book an 8.5 out of 10.
