After reading many many werewolf books, I’ve found that out of all the different types of werewolf stories, the hardest to find are the ones where the main character gets turned and it’s not a good thing but they still learn to live with it. Most are about born werewolves(and the normal/good that comes with it) or horror-type stories, so it’s hard to find one that tows that middle line. Because of that, I was very interested when I came across Wolf Blood.
For the most part, it was a pretty good book and I’m intrigued to see where the rest of the series goes. But that being said, I was a little iffy on the second half of Wolf Blood. That unsureness comes from what happened once the characters got to the fortress/monastery(I forget what it was called). I don’t quite know how to explain it but the decisions/sequence of events felt off. Everything just felt a bit weird and a tad too rushed. While I wasn’t a huge fan of how the book got to its ending, I still liked the story and worldbuilding as a whole, so I’m going to give this book a 7 out of 10.
