After Queen of Shadows fully got my attention I was a tad afraid that I wouldn’t like Empire of Storms as much, especially considering that my boy Chaol isn’t in it. Luckily it did not disappoint, plus for my own entertainment, I kept a count of how many times Chaol was mentioned(13 times by name and 2-3 times as the Captain if you were curious). But anyway, this book was insane, it was just one thing after another. So many crazy things happened that I couldn’t put it down. It was also constantly stressful waiting for all the different storylines to converge.
This book is also a prime example of one of those moments where you love getting mad at the characters. I was constantly getting pissed at Aelin for once again hiding her plans, which I enjoyed immensely. While I do love it, I hope in Kingdom of Ash Aelin finally starts trusting everyone with her plans. So anyway I would give Empire of Storms a 9 out of 10.
