I know this is super duper late to the game but despite knowing about Hazbin Hotel since the Youtube concept trailer thing, way back when, I finally got around to watching the Prime show. This was one of those shows where I get mad at myself for taking so long to watch because it was a lot of fun. My favorite part, like many others, is of course Alastor! I can’t wait for a second season because I absolutely need to know everything there is to know about him. But besides Alastor, I love the uniqueness of every character’s design.
That said, I do have to share some of my less-happy thoughts. I hate to say this, and it might be controversial to some, but I wasn’t a huge fan of every song. Don’t get me wrong, for the most part, the songs were great but one or two of them were kind of lacking in my opinion. Now, my second less-than-happy opinion is that there was a tad too much cursing. I know that sounds stupid being about an R-rated adult show known for cursing, but I caught myself thinking a few times that it was pretty excessive and there were certainly moments where it didn’t add anything. A few of the moments felt like they forced themselves to throw in a curse word so instead, it was jarring and took me out of the story.
Despite my few negative thoughts I am still hoping for a swift second season, and I give this season an 8 out of 10.
