Nerd Thoughts

I have to start this off by saying I have never read the book or seen the musical, so I have absolutely zero skin in the game, considering how accurate it is. With that out of the way I have to say I enjoyed the movie. I loved the sets and the costumes, plus the casting was perfect, but I did have two issues with the movie.

The first issue might be more of a personal one, but there were a few times, especially when Ariana’s singing was high-pitched when I could not understand what they were saying. I don’t know if that’s just a me issue or a sound editing issue, but I definitely had moments where I wished movie theaters had subtitles all the time. I’m not sure if I only think this with my second issue because other people online brought it to my attention, but there were some moments, especially with Galinda, when colors/lighting seemed very pale. I would have liked more vibrant colors. Besides those problems, I had no other issues, so I’m giving Wicked 8 out of 10.
