To Catch a Falling Leaf (The Stargazer’s War Book 2) Review

After reading the first book, I was very much looking forward to reading the sequel, so when I finally had time to read To Catch a Falling Leaf, I devoured it in a day or two. This is one of those books that I have absolutely bad to say, so I’m just going to mention my favorite parts. Okay, first off, Fuck Yes, Void Raven Pet!!! Combining the knowledge of the cover with the moment the void ravens showed up, I was like, Cal better keep one as a pet/familiar, or I’m rioting. The next thing that I appreciated was how the leveling up/time progression was handled. With this type of story, there’s a big chance it drags on with the characters getting stronger, so I was grateful for the time jumps and speedy leveling.

Now, I loved all the little things that made me laugh, but the best thing about this book/series is the author’s ability to put so much emotion behind the simplest lines. I’ve read plenty of books that feel like there’s no emotion attached to the story, but The Stargazer’s War series is the exact opposite. I could feel the meaning and trauma behind what seemed like a throwaway line at first glance, and I loved every second. Oh, and I can’t forget that this series made me cry once again! So, obviously, I give this book a 10 out of 10, and I eagerly await more!
