When you put a vampire book with badass main characters with traumatic backstories that find their true loves in front of me, it’s almost guaranteed that I will enjoy it. Then you also add the fact that it’s a sequel where the things that went bad in the previous book get fixed I will most likely love it. Surprise. Surprise, this is that type of book. I think the best part of this series so far is how everything is described. I think I’m usually good at creating an image in my head of how things look, but with this series, I have such a clear picture of how things are described, and I love it. Now, while I did love this book, there was one huge situation that I had an issue with that I was not happy about in the last book. That issue is the whole “I hate him, he’s my enemy(but I refuse to see the truth)” trope. I’m fine with it for a little bit, but it took way too long for Oraya to forgive Raihn, and that honestly annoyed me. Sure, I understand why she was mad, but I just wish that it didn’t last for like half the book. I would have preferred if the relationship started to get repaired much sooner than it did. Besides that one big problem, I have no other complaints, so I’m going to give this book an 8.5 out of 10.
