When I first subscribed to Dropout, I was worried that I was going to catch up on everything too fast and then have nothing to watch. Man, am I glad I was wrong. But anyway, Sophomore Year really solidified my preference for the role-playing parts versus the combat parts. While I love a good Nat 20 during a fight and seeing the characters do some crazy badass stuff, that can’t beat the silly shenanigans that happen out of combat. Like, come on.. Shrimp party?!?!?! That shit was hilarious! I honestly space out sometimes during the combat, only to focus back in when I sense a shenanigan happening. I think that DnD is one of those things where the saying “it’s the little things that matter the most” is 100% true. Sure, defeating the bad guy is super great, but will it be as memorable as something random the players do during non-combat? My bet is no, and that’s why I love Dimension 20 so much, because I get those silly moments.
