Nerd Thoughts

So, overall, I really liked this book and have already started listening to the second one. That being said, I want to get my one big negative thought out of the way first. Unfortunately, the audiobook wasn’t the best listening experience. The narrator for Max sounded really rushed the whole time, which I can only assume is the reason that he made extremely audible breaths/gasps after every line. You get kind of used to it, but it definitely would have been a better experience if I had physically read it instead of listening to it.

Now time for my neutral thought that turns into a good thought. For the most part, while I was listening to this book, I was really enjoying it, but I was also thinking that it was just going to go on the pile of romantasy books that I like, but not the pile of romantasy that I love. That, of course, is until I got to the end and Max’s reveal!!! Dude, I don’t know why, but the inclusion of reveals like that immediately makes a book waaaaay better in my eyes. With all of this in mind, I would give this book an 8 out of 10.
