2 things you need to know about me before I start this review. Number 1 I am obsessed with Baja Blast, the only soda I love more is Dr. Pepper. Basically, Dr. Pepper is my go-to but Baja Blast is my fancy special drink. Number 2 I’m not a big drinker but when I do drink it has to be some super colorful cocktail where you don’t even know there’s alcohol in it. So, with that in mind, you might understand how I was simultaneously excited and worried when I heard that Mountain Dew was making a hard Baja Blast.(I know there’s other flavors but who cares about those peasant flavors when you have the god flavor)
Mostly I was super duper excited while I waited impatiently for it to finally come to my state. But under that excitement was the worry that I wouldn’t like it, and I didn’t want to betray my glorious Baja Blast that way by not enjoying it. So, I didn’t wait long to hunt it down and try it. And… my worry was unwarranted. Now that’s not to say I absolutely loved it, it’s still a seltzer and I’m really not that big fan of seltzers, but it tasted enough like normal Baja Blast that I could still enjoy it.
My only big complaint is that the only cans I had access to are the massive 24oz cans and as much as I love Baja Blast I can’t drink 24 oz of it. So, besides its massive size and the fact that I only seem to love drinks that have a shit ton of sugar and other stuff in them I give the Hard Mountain Dew Baja Blast flavor a solid 7 out of 10. (would drink again if someone will share it with me)
