Gran Turismo Review

Before I get started, I feel like I have to make a clarification for some people out there. The Gran Turismo movie is not a video game adaptation, it is a biopic that just so happens to have a video game as an important factor. Two very different things. Now back to the review. This movie had so many things I was a massive fan that it just might be my new favorite biopic. Firstly the story itself was awesome, a classic underdog story with a video game(sorry, simulation) as a main plot point. What more could you want? The only thing that could make it better was if you had that same story with great actors… oh wait that’s what Gran Turismo is! Archie Madekwe, David Harbour, and Orlando Bloom were all great in their respective roles. Especially, Archie, he was phenomenal as Jann. My next favorite part of this movie was how they blended the game and real life. It not only looked so cool, but it showed how Jann always thought of Gran Turismo as more than just a game. Another sign to me that this movie was remarkable was the fact that it was able to make me cry multiple times. Any movie that can affect my emotions enough to make me cry is automatically good in my mind.

Now, I don’t know how accurate the movie is to the true story, but even if it exaggerated things it was still an extraordinary movie. And I’m giving it a 9 out of 10.
