The Boys In The Boat Review

Before I start I have to say that I was able to see this movie early because of Regals Mystery Movie Monday. Once again, I feel weird reviewing a true-story movie that I have no previous knowledge of. So, this time, I will make it easy on myself and just assume that it’s accurate. Now, every other facet of this movie was really good, so I don’t actually have anything bad to say. All the actors were great in their respective roles and did such a perfect job telling the story that I of course had to cry some.

One thing that did surprise me was how stressful the rowing parts were. I was constantly nervous shaking my leg due to my fear of them losing. What got to me the most was the close-ups on the oars. Every time it zoomed in, I was expecting something to break or fall off, which in turn would end the story. So, I was surprisingly on the edge of my seat for a true story sports movie. Because of all of this, I would give the movie a solid 8 out of 10.
