I’ve been reading a lot more adult-ish/serious fantasy books lately, so it was really nice to read a true YA. It was like a breath of fresh air. Normally, I prefer a fantasy book with a side of romance, so I was pleasantly surprised that I liked this book as much as I did since it’s more romance with a side of fantasy. It’s no surprise that the main reason I liked this book is because of my babies, Iris and Roman. I loved how in love with Iris Roman is and how oblivious Iris was, like come on girl, it was so obvious who you were writing to!
While I enjoyed reading every second of this book, I was disappointed by one thing. I only cried at one part. Now, I definitely think my assumptions about what this book would be like were skewed by my sister(who had informed me that she was bawling while reading this). So I kind of let down when the only time I cried was during Roman’s panic attack very early on(panic attacks always get to me). But besides that, I had fun reading this book and have already started the next one. Which leads me to give it an 8 out of 10.
