Bob Marley: One Love Review

Of all the different musician bio-pics I’ve seen One Love would probably be my second favorite(Bohemian Rhapsody is still top-billing for me). I’ve found that I like it best when the movie includes them actually making the music and showing the story behind the musicians’ most notable hits. So I loved that One Love made sure to include that. I do have to say that at the beginning when it specified the movie was focusing on a very specific time, I was a little worried. Besides the music making, I need my bio-pics to include the artists’ past, so I was relieved and happy that it had small flashbacks from time to time. It gave me enough to keep me happy while also keeping me focused on the “present” story.

Now, sadly I did have one problem with this movie. I hate to say this, but as someone who is both shitty with accents and has gotten into the habit of always having subtitles on no matter what, I wished there were subtitles for at least certain points. Unfortunately, there were times when the characters were talking fast or using a lot of creole that I just wasn’t able to figure out what was being said. So, a bit of subtitles would solve that problem for me.

So, all together, I would give this movie an 8 out of 10.
