After reading The Assassin’s Blade first, I’m not sure whether to call this the second or first book but anyway I’m just going to jump straight in. This book did a great job of getting me hooked on this series. So many interesting characters to meet and as always a new magic world to experience. Also with both this book and Assassin’s Blade I’ve come to love when Celaena is being a dumbass especially when it comes to not putting two and two together or underestimating an opponent. Every time it’s frustrating and hilarious at the same time.
Now, while I really did enjoy this book, and it got me super excited for the next book I sadly didn’t get that emotional. Sure I laughed and got annoyed, but I don’t think I ever actually cried and I was expecting to. Since I didn’t get swept away by my emotions I would have to give this one a 7 out of 10. Great start to a series.
