Civil War Review

This is one of those movies I wouldn’t have bothered to watch without my Regal Unlimited subscription. Now, I don’t necessarily regret seeing the movie, but I definitely wouldn’t watch it again. My biggest issue with the film is that it is a bit murky at times on which side people were on/which side we should be rooting for. With the gas station guys, the firefight, and not to mention the mass grave guys you’re not sure which side of the fight they’re on so you’re not sure if it’s the “good guys” doing these things. I get that that is the point and it’s similar to reality where it’s not always black and white but I watch movies to escape reality not to think about how things could go wrong. That being said I did appreciate the quick little mentions of the stuff the president did because it does make rooting for the WF in the final fight easier. While I would have appreciated some type of montage at the beginning of the movie to show how it got to the point of civil war, I do think I made sense for the vibe. I know this was probably some people’s type of movie but sadly it was not mine so I have to give a 5.5 out of 10.
