I’m not going to beat around the bush on this one. This is one of those books that I did indeed like but I had a few big issues that kept me from loving it. The first and smallest issue that I had was that Andrew didn’t turn into a dragon enough for me. I wanted more dragon! Now, that’s a petty issue that doesn’t really have any real effect on my opinion of the book, unlike my true issue. The true issue is the same as in the first book: things move too fast, especially in the romance sense. I think because I read so many books with fated mates or severe trauma bonding, when a couple wants to get married within a couple of months without any of that it feels way too fast. I just couldn’t help saying “Woah slow it down a bit, you just met” so many times while reading Guardian. One thing I appreciated, though, was that Andrew did not move on from Vera’s death. If he had moved on super fast I would have been pissed and probably would have dropped the series. Luckily though that didn’t happen so I’m very interested in seeing where this series goes. So, I would give Guardian a 6.5 out of 10.
