So, a little while ago I did a “couple episodes in” review of Buddy Daddies, Trigun Stampede, and Iceblade Sorcerer. While the first two knocked it out of the park the third did not. I’m saying that because while I felt excited to watch the newest episode of BD and TS and never got more the 1 episode behind I still haven’t caught up/finished IS. I had such high hopes that Iceblade Sorcerer was going to have way more serious undertones, but sadly(at least where I stopped) it doesn’t. Now that we got the bad news out of the way lets talk about the perfections that are Buddy Daddies and Trigun Stampede!
First up is Buddy Daddies. I loved everything about this show and I have absolutely nothing bad to say about it! Well maybe one bad thing, the creators should have just grown a pair and made Rei and Kazuki actually gay! I mean come on we all know the truth, even if they did try to change our mind by putting some line in at the very end about Kazuki sneaking out to get a drink with a woman. We fans know the truth! You can’t deny the fans’ love of the best ex-assassins diner-owning gay couple around!
Last but obviously not least is Trigun Stampede. I know this might be blasphemous to say but I honestly liked this animation style better than the original, especially where Vash is concerned. But the thing that really struck home to me was probably the last 5 minutes of the last episode. I don’t know if I’m remembering things wrong(it’s been a while since I last watched Trigun) or if it’s just me but everything added in those last 5 minutes made the whole show feel like it ended where Trigun begins. Which made everything feel like it came full circle and I love that feeling. I am also extremely happy about the mention of Milly!
So Iceblade gets no rating since I haven’t finished it but both Buddy Daddies and Trigun Stampede get 10 out of 10.
