House of Earth and Blood (Crescent City Book 1) Review

Maas just can’t miss! Time to add another Maasverse book to the amazing pile. For some background, I listened to the audiobook for this one instead of actually reading the book. Now, for a hot second, I was afraid I wasn’t able to get as invested in audiobooks as I do with physical books because I didn’t cry at the beginning. That fear quickly went away when I found myself crying to and from work almost every day! Man, this book had be bawlin’!!!!

Besides pulling at my heartstrings, I couldn’t get enough of a Maas urban fantasy. I love urban fantasy books, but there was just something special about how Maas wrote this book. The best way I can describe it is that she was able to bring the vibe of the high fantasy/medieval fantasy from her other series into a modern setting, and it was perfect. Not much can beat a world with magic and modern technology. So, as you might guess, I’m giving House of Earth and Blood a 10 out of 10.
