With Will Trent returning tonight after a little break I wanted to share some of my thoughts on it so far. Since there are a million and one police shows out there a show has to have something unique about it for me to decide to follow it weekly, and Will Trent definitely has its own unique characteristics. In a lot of shows, I’m usually only interested in learning some characters’ backgrounds but in Will Trent, I need to know everyone’s history right now! Well… maybe not Ormewood, I just want him to be a dick that I can love to hate so I’m fine not learning too much about him.
Now you might be wondering why I find these characters so interesting and it might seem cliché to say this but, trauma. As any good storyteller knows having characters that have traumatic backstories makes everything more compelling. Especially with Will himself, when you combine the traumatic backstory with his desire to hide his dyslexia you just get a great character that I can’t wait to learn every detail of and see be an awesome badass. To wrap up I give this show a 10 out of 10 and I hope it gets more seasons after the first one finishes.
